A Conversation with Amy Bassham

How do you help students?

Anyone working in the Division of Philanthropy and Engagement gives students a chance to achieve their goals in higher education. Providing money for scholarships, making the university a better place with new buildings and classrooms, and starting new programs and initiatives all help students to obtain their degrees and become career ready.

What is something you enjoy about working at A&M-Commerce? Why?

When I first started full-time at A&M-Commerce, I worked directly with students and loved helping such smart and hardworking individuals. Then I moved over to the alumni office and started working with alumni and donors. We have the best alumni, and I have developed some great relationships with them over the years. I have loved working with them for over 17 years now!

Why did you choose your career/what draws you to your discipline?

I love helping people!  That includes my co-workers, students, alumni, donors, staff and faculty. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I help others with their jobs.
