Abstract
Chemical education research examines how basic chemical principles are taught to undergraduate students. Researchers at East Texas A&M are taking steps to improve retention rates. One method involves revising organic chemistry textbooks to help students understand complex, organic chemistry principles. Both the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates and Noyce Grants allow for this research to happen.
